Fractures of the distal radius is a extremely common fracture especially in geriatric group with trivial trauma. It can be with younger group following RTA or a fall from height. Whatever the case is , the there is no consensus on its management in any literature nor be the so called experts in Orthopaedics!!! I would say the fractures heals according to the expertise of the Orthopaedic surgeon rather than the modality of management. I have seen patients who have been treated with the costliest of implants still complaining of wrist pain and on the other spectrum I have had patients who had insisted on only cast management which turned to be functionally Happy patient!!!!
