Knee injuries - Is surgery a must??

Knee injuries are very common at any age . While for the young it is common to have ligamentous injury,for the old,it is degenerative injuries of the soft tissue as well as many times the bone. The question is very dicy with every patient demanding MRI as nearly 99% will show some or other abnormality. While the question is not about the integrity of the reports but the fact that with commercialization of healthcare many times chance is not given to the nature/body to heal with minimum support from doctor's side. Instead patients are subjected to surgeries where it is not essential!!! Judicious decisions are difficult but has some scope here.
